My husband and I had been trying to conceive for 6 months when it finally happened. In the meantime, I became an expert on home pregnancy tests. I tried every variety our neighborhood drugstore had to offer–the single/double lines, the plus/minus, the digital, you name it. My hubby convinced me to stop wasting money explaining that Mother Nature would eventually let us know. And, she did. Since then, I haven’t only been learning about the importance of Folic acid and nursery trends but even more importantly about how to survive as a pregnant woman in NYC. For instance, when a majority of women move here from other places, how do you find the proper OB/GYN or the right daycare/nanny? Where do you get the support when your friends and family live states away or perhaps in a different country? How do you walk down the crowded concrete jungle carrying much more than a compact and a pair of flats? When with child, how can you assure job security in such a cut-throat city? This blog will address all of these questions and much more. One thing is for sure, if you can make it pregnant in New York, you can make it anywhere.
